The Face We Deserve Jun 16, 2010
I was on the underground in New York watching a young, beautiful woman putting on moisturiser. It made me think of an article I read recently which listed how many chemicals we put into our body on a daily basis.
Perfectly Imperfect Jun 13, 2010
Sorry I’m so late with this article - I’ve taken some vacation time with my daughter and it’s been hectic. Thank you to all my wonderful readers who have been logging on, I’m sorry for the delay.
What Are You Worth? Jun 2, 2010
Ok, I’m happy to admit I’m a bit of a techno-cretin. I only have a limited understanding of the most basic functions. I have absolutely no understanding of how it all works in the big picture. Like Facebook.
Who Wants To Be Happy? May 26, 2010
I went down to San Diego for the Hay House conference a couple of weekends ago. Robert Holden, a successful writer/speaker in the Hay House stable, captivated his audience of more than a thousand. He has studied the nature of happiness and has written several books on the topic but he got everyone’s attention when he said that instead of chasing our happiness, we should, rather, follow our joy.
Compare and Despair May 19, 2010
My friend has a six-year-old daughter who loves to run. She competes in events of the Little Athletics organisation and at their club championships recently she looked like she was going to medal (too long here in America - I’ve absorbed their penchant for using nouns as verbs). That is, until she looked around at the girl who was running beside her. Just that small shift of focus took her out of the medal stakes.
As in Yoga, So in Life May 12, 2010
I am missing my Melbourne yoga teacher, Gena Kenny (from Ohana Yoga) like mad. Gena gave me a love of yoga that eluded me until about six months ago. Largely due to her pure and loving heart she is able to facilitate a practice that feeds the mind and soul whilst working through the body. It has been a revelation for me.
California Dreamin': How and Why May 6, 2010
Sorry I’m late with this article - I flew to California on the weekend and it has taken me a while to find my feet. As I settled into my room in the Victorian Guest House where I will be staying for most of the next three months, I had that familiar sinking feeling of homesickness, asking myself: why am I doing this?
Love One Love All Apr 27, 2010
Deepak Chopra was in town on the weekend. He is a medical doctor who was one of the first to introduce new science to the world and to show how science actually supports a lot of things that many of us have known instinctively but which seem to defy both logic and the accepted rules of physical reality.

Beauty: Some Things Never Change Apr 13, 2010
Carrying on with some of the ideas of last week’s blog - that only the details of life change - and it is clear that some things never change. I just finished reading The Women’s Room by Marilyn French which has just been reprinted to celebrate its 25th anniversary. This passage jumped out at me:
What Happens When It All Falls Apart Apr 6, 2010
A friend of mine recently had a career opportunity closed down. Not only was this a severe disappointment for her, but the way it was done was extremely hurtful, and personal. Everything about this seemed unjust and undeserved. But it was the very injustice that made me think that the Universe has plans for my friend - and they are much bigger and more exciting than the situation she is currently in.
Creating Your Own Tribe Mar 30, 2010
Talented and amazing psychic and medium Maria Last - who recently twice appeared on The 7PM Project on Channel 10 here in Australia - commented on my article Love Is Truth posted on March 10, saying that we all have to ‘create our own tribe.’
What Is Love? Mar 23, 2010
At book club last night the question was asked: what is love? Our book for this month was Elizabeth Gilbert’s Committed (the long awaited sequel to international bestseller Eat Pray Love) which is basically a treatise on the history and nature of marriage. Thus the question asked related to romantic love - what the Ancient Greeks called Eros (as opposed to Agape, or non-sexual love).
Self-Love is Not Nice Mar 18, 2010
The trouble with actively living and speaking your own truth, which is the natural extension of loving yourself, is that not everyone likes what you say or do. Our natural reaction is to try and avoid the uncomfortable feeling we get when we know we are not ‘pleasing’ other people.
Love Is Truth Mar 10, 2010
Being able to love ourselves truly and authentically requires us to silence the voices that have come from ‘out there’ and that now play in our heads, telling us how things are and how they must be. From our first breath we have absorbed, both consciously and unconsciously, the world views of the people around us. Because many of these people have authority, and because we were too young to do otherwise, we accepted what they said.
